# Versioning

> How the GraphQL API and the audit documents change.

The audit documents carry their version in `schema`: `darpan.audit.report/v1` and `darpan.audit.finding/v1`.

Within v1, changes are additive only: a new field, a new type, a new enum value or a new system name. A field is never removed or renamed, its type never changes, and what it means never changes. Those would be v2. Ignore fields you do not recognise.

The schema Darpan serves is always at `GET /rest/s1/graphql/sdl`, with a description on every type, field and argument. This reference is generated from it.
